Bridget lives in Perth, Western Australia.
Bridget has Ectodermal Dysplasia Syndrome. She is of Hard of hearing in both ears (She wears a cochlear implant on her left and a hearing aid on her right). She is also a below the knee amputee which requires her to wear a prosthetic leg. On her left foot, she has two missing toes.
Growing up with disabilities was a hard experience for Bridget but as she’s gotten older and grown in confidence, she has become an advocate for inclusion and diversity, particularly fashion.
After getting a Bachelor of Arts in Photography and Illustration, Bridget is now working as a photo editor.
Bridget used her photography skills to volunteer for Hyperfest music festival, Perth fringe festival several times and participated and photographed a fashion show, Colouful Cultures, showcasing Indigenous and First Nations designers which featured models to promote body positivity, disability and diversity.
Bridget has participated in many public charity events including being the face of Telethon in 2007, the ambassador for Loud Shirt Day giving a speech to the members of the State Parliament in 2012, modelled in the Designer Hearing campaign and modelled in the Artitiude Amplified Fashion and Art show 2018.
Bridget has a love for Japan, Japanese culture and history. She was able to privately photograph a Maiko (trainee Geisha) in Kyoto which was a very memorable experience. She loves animals and after completing a course in Animal Studies, she has volunteered in an animal rescue and rehab. She also enjoys camping, music and undertaking new challenges.
