Amy (she/her) is a 26-year-old who is originally from Wolverhampton but has been living in Manchester for the past 8 years. She has a degree in French and Business Management and spent a year living and working in Paris. Amy's interests are fashion, running, going for coffee, finding nice restaurants, and raising awareness around her disability. She also loves to travel and has recently returned from a 3-month trip around South America.
Amy was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) just after her 21st birthday and since then has wanted to make a difference within the disabled community. Amy quickly realised that there was a lack of representation for young people living with MS. She decided to start sharing her MS journey through her platform @butyoudontlookill on Instagram and TikTok. Amy then connected with several people who were all looking for the same thing – specific support for young people living with MS. Amy decided to start her own community organisation called MS Together to help with this and over the last 3 years has been able to support thousands of people. Last year, the organisation won a National Diversity Award and became a registered charity.
Amy currently works as a Social Media Specialist for a large UK-based charity, but the hope is that one day she can be employed by the charity she founded. Getting diagnosed with MS encouraged Amy to also make some lifestyle changes. She now prioritises getting outside, going on runs or hikes and doing yoga every single day.
