MODEL
Lauren is a passionate disability and human rights campaigner, model and writer. She has modelled for campaigns such as Primark and shot fashion editorials such as for Cosmopolitan Magazine, Mission Magazine and Pom Pom Magazine. She has walked in SS22 London Fashion Week. She is an ambulatory wheelchair user and is mixed heritage Indian-Malaysian/White. Alongside being a model, Lauren also works as a senior mental health youth worker and campaigns and writes in the fashion industry for more disabled representation. She is trained to Masters level in Theatre.
MENTOR/CONSULTANT
Lauren is a model, writer, campaigner and justice worker. She has experience within the fashion industry as a model and as a campaigner for the inclusion of disabled people within the industry. She also has an extensive background in facilitating with those who usually struggle in accessing the arts. She can support the fashion and media industries to reflect on how they can make their work more inclusive to disabled models, actors and artists. In her other work, Lauren works as a senior Anti-Racism, Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion officer for a young people's mental health charity.
What Lauren can support with; Lauren can support your production teams and casting directors to reflect on where and how they might be putting in barriers for disabled creatives to submit work, attend castings and whilst on set for jobs. Together, we would discuss your day to day work or a specific project and reflect on how it can be made more inclusive for disabled models, actors and artists to work with you in a way that is more equitable.
