Growing up in Torbay Chris left school with not many qualifications. His life changed when he met the girl of his dream in the Xmas of 1999. 2 Years later Chris & Clare married. During this time Chris got a job as a claims advisor, proved himself and they paid for him to qualify as a Legal Executive. April 2002 Chris & Clare got married in the Caribbean. 12 weeks later, Chris was hit by a Cherokee Jeep. His leg was pretty mangled but after years in several external fixators he decided to have his left leg amputated above the knee.
During his rehabilitation period Chris qualified as a Legal Executive which is similar to being a solicitor – he didn’t go to Uni but the qualification is the equivalent of a law degree. Soon he & Clare set up a law firm.
Since then Chris has help mentor numerous amputees, represented them in Personal Injury Claims, run the law firm, has a beautiful family, cycled from London to Amsterdam, climbed Snowdon, Pen-y-Fan, Kilimanjaro (summited), parachuted out of a plane, walked 40 Km in two days, entered local cycle races, supported the ECB Disability Cricket Premier League as an assistant Cricket Coach as he is a Level 3 Cricket Coach (apparently the only one in the UK). Chris is a trustee of Limbpower and helping other amputees is one of his passions. He regularly keeps fit, loves to travel (his favourite place on the plant is Yosemite National Park in California) he has been pretty much everywhere bar Australia and New Zealand.
You will find Chris skiing on one leg in the winter somewhere in the Mountains of Europe, Canada or USA. He snowboards as well, but skiing his is vice as being in the mountains skiing on one leg is exhilarating. If there is no snow, then you will find Chris walking his St Bernard somewhere around Devon.
Chris loves helping people. He is frequently asked to attend events and host Public Speaking due to his inspirational story.
Recently Chris has become a coach helping people figure out their lives as well as business problems. 23 years in law, a lifetime of experience and a passion to help other puts Chris in a strong position to help others be the best they can be. Chris biggest achievement is his family. Clare & the boys mean everything to him and its life’s best gift is watching the boys grow up to be good, kind men.
Chris’ mantra is “My accident, my disability do not define me. My life is defined by the lessons I have learnt and I am living my legacy. Live each day like it’s your last.”
