BIOGRAPHY
Ella Beaumont is 26 years old and has been a full time wheelchair user all of her life, but this has never stopped her. She fun, sporty and adventurous. Ella is a huge sports fan and has been from a very young age. When she was younger her parents encouraged her to try out lots of different sports to keep fit and active, but to also meet other disabled children with similar needs. Ella tried a variety of sports before falling in love with and deciding to pursue a career in wheelchair basketball. She played wheelchair basketball for fun for years before being spotted by the GB Women's coach and being asked to join the team. Ella played for the GB women's under 25 team from 2011- 2015 and represented GB at the Under 25 World champions in Canada in 2011, where they won a Bronze medal. Ella Says that representing her country was such an honour and an experience she will never forget. In 2015 Ella made the difficult decision to leave the GB team to concentrate on her Sports Coaching university degree. In 2017 she graduated from the University of Worcester in Sports coaching science, but began to pursue a career in TV, working as a sports researcher on a variety of sports programmes, including the Channel 4 Rio 2016 Paralympic Games Coverage. During the first lockdown in April 2020 Ella was really missing the Gym and keeping fit. She noticed that there was a gap online for disabled fitness trainers. So, using her coaching knowledge she decided to film her very own Wheelchair Workouts to help keep disabled people fit and active during this difficult time. Nearly a year later she has now released a Workout video every week since April. She never planned to gain followers or likes, but the disabled community have been extremely supportive and have really taken to following her workouts. Ella has found it heartwarming to know that her workouts have helped so many people and is now in the process of training up to be a fully qualified Level 3 Personal Trainer that aims to specialise in training people with an impairment.
