Katie is partially blind after losing her right eye to a rare cancer (retinoblastoma) at the age of 4, but this doesn’t stop her living her life to the full.
After being on and off with chemo, multiple surgery’s and medication it was decided that the cancer was too aggressive to save her eye. Growing up with her disability was difficult as she was so young, she felt like she never fitted in but now she is older she feels more confident in her body and with her disability.
Katie now wants to spread awareness of different disabilities and help people young and old feel more confident in themselves and in their bodies and to help prevent bullying.
Katie is sociable, enjoys hanging out with friends, loves travelling and competing her horse in show jumping…. She does all of this whilst studying for a degree in event management at the same time.
