Born in Kyoto in 1997, Mei was born to a British father and a Japanese mum with a short right arm. Mei started swimming at the age of one and a half and participated in the 2010 Asian Games as the youngest in history. At the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Paralympics, she made her dream come true and competed in eight events and currently holds 7 national records. After retiring from swimming in 2021, she has expanded her platform to Public speaking, Modeling, Acting, as well as working with companies on projects based on “well-being” “sustainability” and “diversity & inclusion” which is her passion.
