BIOGRAPHY
After I was in a car accident in 2015, I have become a scars and face equality campaigner.
In 2021, I will become the CEO of the charity, Face Equality International.
This is an umbrella, membership organisation consisting of 38 NGOs around the world, all of whom collectively campaign for face equality; the fair and equal treatment of all, irrespective of appearance.
All of these charities work with people who have facial differences in some way, whilst working together to challenge discrimination, negative media portrayal and prejudice of any kind.
The campaign also champions accurate, positive, holistic representation across mainstream culture and the public domain. From ensuring inclusivity in fashion, to diversity in the workplace, the face equality campaign spans all aspects of day to day life for people with facial differences.
I have high hopes for continuing on with this mission, from ensuring that we receive recognition from the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, to ensuring worldwide engagement in the annual International Face Equality Week. I am also big on sustainable fashion.
I buy preloved clothes from second-hand websites and stores. The Clothing and textiles industry is one of the biggest polluters after oil and I believe everyone should buy less and love their clothes more.
