Adi is a Software Engineer. Growing up in the Silicon Valley, he has always had a deep appreciation for technology. At UC Berkeley, Adi pursued a double degree in Computer Science & Statistics, which enabled him to mature his appreciation of tech into a career. After graduating in 2020, he worked at Amazon Web Services for a year, before leaving to join a smaller YCombinator-backed ed- tech startup.
In the interim, Adi also worked on his own startup: https://getleaf.app, a platform which enables educators to make better coding tutorials online. Adi is passionate about education and teaching. Outside of his job as an engineer, he spends his time teaching math & computer science to younger kids in his neighborhood. In addition to work & teaching, Adi loves playing chess, enjoys working out, and has two beautiful dogs.
Adi found out he had Vitiligo in early 2020. Vitiligo is an auto-immune condition which destroys pigment-producing melanocytes, resulting in white spots on your skin. For Adi, he saw these form mainly on his face, symmetrical around his jaw and mouth. It was not easy for Adi to learn how to navigate life with this life-changing condition. People tell you to "be comfortable in your skin", but he was literally losing his.
Adi has spent the past couple years not only coming to terms with his condition, but being proud of who he is and how he looks. Just as he has for his students with math & coding, Adi wants to now be a role model for others facing similar conditions to know that they ARE beautiful and can be comfortable in their own skin.
